Session 5 2024 HS AM: Video Editing for High School Students - Cancelled
Session 5 PM: July 22 - August 2
Age / grade level: HS
Teacher: Mr. Ben Shankman
Description: Video Editing for Beginners: This summer session will center on editing footage both provided to the class and filmed by the students themselves. We will learn the work of editors and other post-production jobs and how they fit into a larger film production. Students will be hands-on with the program Davinci Resolve learning to cut, splice, and arrange footage on a timeline. They will synchronize video with audio, cut for multi-camera footage, cut for context, and cut for taste. These are the same skills for creating a video of a family vacation, highlights from a football game, or social media content.
This class has a limit of 12 high schoolers.
Teacher Bio: Mr. Benjamin Shankman is the technology teacher for grades kindergarten through 12. Born in Northport, he joined the Capitol School in the fall of 2021.
