Description: Explore the fascinating world of YOU as we take a journey through your body and mind. We will take a roadtrip through your body to investigate the fuel of food. Examine the mind-boggling beauty of your brain. Research different germs and discover why they make you sick and how your amazing body fights to make you healthy. You will get your blood and muscles pumping as we explore many amazing secrets of YOUR body!
Teacher Bio: Michelle Harcrow holds a BS in Psychology with a minor in Biology and a MS in Exercise Physiology and Health Education from Mississippi State University. She completed her Ph.D. In Health Education & Promotion with dual concentrations in Human Behavior/Mental Health and Kinesiology through the UAB School of Public Health and The University of Alabama Department of Health Science. She has taught at the elementary, middle, and high school and collegiate levels for the last 23 years, and has served as an Expert Faculty member for The Capitol School since 2016. She worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, as well as an athletics coach for over 15 years, and has developed multiple community health programs and curricula focusing on personal, mental-emotional, physical, and social health. Her passion is helping students learn to think critically about themselves and their choices, and maximize their potential as responsible citizens of humanity. She lives in Northport with her family, including her two sons, Luke (12) and Judson (8). In her free time, she enjoys creative projects, good food, and being outdoors!
