Description:
If your learner loves to draw, this is the class to join! Mrs. Lavender, certified to teach not only academics but art and music, will share techniques to enhance your learner's drawing skills, including ways to add perspective to a picture as well as how to shade pencil drawings. Students will also practice some still-life drawings and use a technique called contour or line drawings. Blending skills with colored pencils, pastels and crayons will be part of the work. Students will have a sketch book provided for the drawings.
Teacher Bio: Mrs. Shelli Lavender is a veteran teacher and reading specialist fully credentialed in both Alabama and Ohio. She has taught in Ohio and Alabama. Having taught at Capitol School since 2012, Mrs. Lavender is Lead Teacher for 9 - 11 year-olds during the school year. Summer Explorations is one of her favorite parts of teaching for the Capitol School. When Mrs. Lavender is not at school, you may find her helping on the family farm. She loves to read, hike, and fish when there is time! She has a son in college and husband at home as well.

Note: This cost is for the registration fee only. You must pay the balance of the total camp cost by the first day of camp. You may also pay in the office.
