Description: Learning another language and culture helps students develop new perspectives, communicate with a wider range of people, and improve their self-confidence. In this session, students will learn about celebrations, traditions, and food across the Spanish-speaking world as a vehicle for learning the Spanish language. All levels are welcome!

 

Teacher Bio: Ms. Emma Bearden is the Spanish teacher for both the elementary and upper school at The Capitol School. She holds a B.A. in Communicative Disorders and Spanish and a M.A. in Spanish Literature from The University of Alabama and has experience teaching kindergarten through college level students. She has studied and worked as a graduate assistant at the Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia and loves incorporating different cultures and traditions into her lessons. She values connecting with people from all backgrounds and hopes to instill that passion in her students. In her free time, Ms. Bearden enjoys crafting and runs a small business with her fiancé selling candles and ceramics. 


Please fill out all information for each child's first registration. For additional registrations, you only have to complete the required information.


Note: This cost is for the registration fee only. You must pay the balance of the total camp cost by the first day of camp. Information will be provided in your receipt or you can pay here: SE2023 Summer Camp Balance. You should also receive an email a week prior to the start of camp with payment information. You may also pay in the office.
