Description: Get ready to learn how to record music! In this class we will discover:
--What makes musical instruments work (we will discuss acoustics: the scientific study of sound)
--How to play instruments (by studying our notes, rhythms, techniques and other aspects of music)
--The basics of recording (as we record ourselves playing!)
--Reasoning skills with sudoku
Teacher Bio: Mr. Deric Whatley is the music teacher at Capitol School. He earned his Master's Degree in Music Composition from The University of Alabama and has more than 20 years experience teaching music (from kindergarten to the University level). Mr. Whatley completed his Alabama teaching certificate two years ago. Mr. Whatley has called Tuscaloosa home since 1995. He has also taught at Cottondale and Lake View Elementary Schools in the Tuscaloosa County system.
Please fill out all information for each child's first registration. For additional registrations, you only have to complete the required information.
Note: This cost is for the registration fee only. You must pay the balance of the total camp cost by the first day of camp. Information will be provided in your receipt or you can pay here: SE2023 Summer Camp Balance. You should also receive an email a week prior to the start of camp with payment information. You may also pay in the office.
