Session 5 2022 MS AM: Computer Skills and Digital Citizenship
Session 5 AM: July 25-August 5
Age / grade level: 4/5
Teacher: Mrs. Shelli Lavender
Description:
The Computer Skills and Digital Citizenship course covers computer basics starting with navigating the operating system, using web browsers, typing and word processing skills. Digital Citizenship is the responsible use of technology to learn, create, and participate. It is an umbrella of concepts we will cover including online safety, privacy, healthy media balance, and online negativity, including cyberbullying. Students will demonstrate the ability to identify, evaluate, and use information effectively, and find credible and trustworthy sources. We will learn to recognise and avoid malware, to discern what personal information is private, to use effective keywords when researching, and to recognize the responsibilities we have towards ourselves and others online.
