Session 5 2026 PS PM: Measure the World
Session 5 PM: July 20 -31
Age / grade level: Preschool
Teacher: Ms. Brianna Hopkins
Description:
How big is big? How heavy is heavy? How full is full?
In Measure the World, preschool children explore early math through hands-on measurement, sensory discovery, and creative play. This afternoon Montessori experience invites children to compare, pour, weigh, build, and create as they discover how we measure the world around us.
Children will:
Explore weight using balance scales, clay, and natural materials
Measure volume through pouring, scooping, and simple baking activities
Compare length, size, and thickness through art and construction
Discover math outdoors by measuring nature with their bodies
Designed especially for the afternoon rhythm, Measure the World emphasizes movement, sensory exploration, and creativity—meeting children where they are after lunch while gently strengthening early mathematical thinking.
Through art, nature walks, practical life activities, and playful experimentation, children learn that math is not just something you see on paper—it’s something you feel, touch, and experience every day.
✨ Perfect for preschoolers who love to explore with their hands, move their bodies, and make joyful discoveries.
