Math & Literacy Adventures is a fun, engaging class where students strengthen their reading and math skills through hands-on activities, games, and creative challenges. Students explore stories, solve puzzles, and tackle real-world problems in a supportive, energetic environment that makes learning feel like an adventure. Our goal is to build confidence, boost skills, and keep young minds curious while having a great time!
Teacher Bio:
Kiesha Washington Matthews currently teaches fifth grade at Moundville Elementary School in Hale County. With 28 years of experience in education, Mrs. Matthews began her teaching career in Capitol Heights, Maryland. She has also served as the co-teacher for the five to seven year old cluster at The Capitol School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Mrs. Matthews earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She holds a Master's Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama in Livingston, Alabama. Throughout her career, Mrs. Matthews has received several honors, including the CBS 42 Excellent Teacher Grant, the West Alabama Teacher Recognition Grant, the Star Teaching Award, and the 2013 Hale County Elementary Teacher of the Year. Additionally, she has been recognized for her dedication to teaching over the past 28 years.

Note: This cost is for the registration fee only. You must pay the balance of the total camp cost by the first day of camp. Information will be provided in your receipt or you can pay here: se2026_sc_balance. You should also receive an email a week prior to the start of camp with payment information. You may also pay in the office.
