Description: With a name like STEM-tacular, students can expect to be fully engaged in exciting activities related to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). They will have the opportunity to work on hands-on projects, utilizing a variety of materials and advanced technology to design, build, and solve problems. This dynamic class promotes creativity and teamwork while helping students develop essential skills for the future in an interactive and engaging environment!
Teacher Bio: Kiesha Washington Matthews currently teaches fifth grade at
Moundville Elementary School. Mrs. Matthews has been an educator for
27 years. Mrs. Matthews began her teaching career in Capitol Heights,
Maryland. She was a co-teacher of the five to seven-year-old cluster at
The Capitol School in Tuscaloosa in 2003-2004. Mrs. Matthews has a
B.S. degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from Stillman
College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She holds a Masters Degree in Early
Childhood/Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama.
Mrs. Matthews has received several honors, including the CBS 42
Excellent Teacher Grant, West Alabama’s Teacher Recognition Grant,
Star Teaching Award and Hale County Elementary Teacher of the Year.

Note: This cost is for the registration fee only. You must pay the balance of the total camp cost by the first day of camp. Information will be provided in your receipt or you can pay here: se2025_sc_balance. You should also receive an email a week prior to the start of camp with payment information. You may also pay in the office.
