Description:
Unleash your inner artist and get your hands dirty with clay! In this camp, students will learn the basics of pottery and clay sculpting. They’ll mold, shape, and fire their own creations, from bowls and cups to imaginative sculptures. With guidance from Mrs. LaReau, kids will explore their creativity, learn about the art of pottery, and watch their projects come to life in the kiln. A perfect blend of fun, art, and hands-on learning! Big thank you to Still Fired Up, in Tuscaloosa AL for providing the glaze, pottery and kiln! $25 fee
Teacher Bio: Mrs. LaReau has spent the past year as the Lead Toddler Teacher and Afternoon Explorations Teacher at The Capitol School. Over the last two years, she has also had the opportunity to co-teach across a range of grade levels, from Preschool to 5th grade. She holds a certification in Early Childhood Development and is nearing completion of her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education. Outside of the classroom, Mrs. LaReau is a proud mother of two children, both of whom attend The Capitol School. Last year, she led the Summer Explorations program for preschoolers, and this year, she has expanded her focus to older students, guiding them through the unique developmental milestones they each experience.
Please fill out all information for each child's first registration. For additional registrations, you only have to complete the required information.
Note: This cost is for the registration fee only. You must pay the balance of the total camp cost by the first day of camp. Information will be provided in your receipt or you can pay here: se2025_sc_balance. You should also receive an email a week prior to the start of camp with payment information. You may also pay in the office.
