Session 4 AM: July 24-Aug 4

Age / grade level: Preschool

Teacher: Mrs. Margee Freeman

Description: This class helps to fine tune your child’s hearing, seeing, and stereognostic (gaining information solely through touch) senses. Children will build towers, mazes, and a color wheel. They will also enjoy smelling various foods and experiencing what bitter, sweet, salty, sour, and savory foods taste like. Children will learn to put puzzles together blindfolded and pick out which brass bell has been rung from a set of 12. Fine tuning your child’s senses has the added benefit of developing both curiosity and concentration.

Teacher Bio: Mrs. Margee Freeman graduated from The University of Alabama in 2001 with a degree in German. While pursuing her bachelor's degree, she spent over a year attending the Paedigoesche Hochschule in Weingarten, Germany. This university specializes in education and “Frau" Freeman planned, taught, and was observed daily while attending the PH. This experience taught her how to effectively teach foreign languages to children and develop her lesson planning. She has over 20 years of Montessori experience and two graduate degrees in her field. She earned her master’s in German in 2004 and her master’s in early childhood education/Montessori education in 2022. Frau Freeman is AMS certified and a proud member of the American Montessori Society. She enjoys wearing two hats at The Capitol School; Frau Freeman is both a lead teacher and a German teacher in our Montessori Preschool.
