Session 4 2022 2/3 PM: Spanish Food, Arts, and Crafts
Session 4 PM: July 11-22
Age / grade level: 2/3
Teacher: Señor Gerardo Ruz
In this class, children can explore different world cultures through food, art, and craft while also learning a different language. I personally want to encourage a love for Spanish, not make it a chore. In this course, children will play games, do crafts, cook while sharpening their language skills.
Gerardo Ruz is a native of Merida, Venezuela who moved to Tuscaloosa in 2018 to complete his PhD at The University of Alabama in Hispanic Studies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Language Teaching from Universidad de Los Andes in Venezuela and a Master’s degree in Hispanic Literature and Curriculum Instruction from Mississippi State University. Mr. Ruz is very passionate and committed to language teaching that he has been the recipient of several awards for Outstanding teaching.
